Guest Bathrom in Walker Zanger 'Weave' Glass Mosaics

Installation by Luke Denny

Design: Amy Denny and Luke Denny

This is our guest bathroom, fully remodeled from an original 1970's traditional guest bath setup. The materials used: Dark lagos limestone, Oxygen Iridescent glass mosaics in a 1" x 4" module. This tile is 100% translucent, so the color of the white wall is actually the color of the setting materials showing through the tiles. Floating cabinet and wall mount faucet were selected to help keep an open and spacious feel.  Sidebar, Amy collaborated with Walker Zanger on the design of this glass tile product.  Feels great to have one of her products installed at home.

I really love the finished product here.  This is an excellent use of traditional and contemporary design elements in a small space.  The claw foot tub and period fixtures play off the traditional design in this mosaic feature wall.  At the same time, modern glass mosaics and contemporary vanity/vessel sink work together.  The greatest challenge in this installation was definitely on the feature wall, I laid out the pattern symmetrically such that we had full rings around the entire perimeter.  I was happy with the end result, and so was the client! - Luke

Contemporary slate feature wall and fireplace installation

This feature was carefully designed to enhance the style of its surroundings.  Clean lines were essential, and the solution was to cut 16 x 16 slate tiles down into a sleek rectangle shape, and then blend the tiles to achieve balanced color variation.
